Born July 20th 2010 @ 10:12 p.m.
8lbs 7oz
20 3/4 in
I was supposed to be induced on the 21st, but apparently Gage had his own agenda because my water broke about 3:20 on Tuesday afternoon, just an hour and a half after Wayne went to work. Luckily my mom and sister were at the office so my sister could get her teeth cleaned, so Wayne walked out and told my mom. Heidi was about finished and Wayne had just numbed a patient up to do a filling. I told them no rush since I didn't even have my bags packed:) about 45 minutes later they all showed up and we were off to the hospital.
When Gage was born he had a few breathing problems which could have been due to an infection. (group strep B) Even though I was on an anti-biotic they said it's still possible to pass it. The neo doc didn't really think he had it but wanted to take precautions because this infection can kill infants. Better safe than sorry we thought so he had to spend the next couple days in the nicu hooked up to monitors and iv's. He didn't seem to mind so much. Even when they spent 45 minutes trying to place an IV while Wayne held a binky in his mouth. So sad. He didn't even cry though.
Now we are home and happy and have a beautiful brown almost black even!(what the???) haired boy. The kids are in love and so are we. He eats like a champ and then sleeps like a champ. And gives the best sleepy drunken smiles. Gage loves visitor and I am feeling fantastic so come meet our newest little dude!

this was just a couple hours old. Seriously!!! What a stink'n cutie! Don't ya just want to smooch him!?

Here is G-man at 1:00am after I spent an hour carefully taking off all the tape that was holding his IV in place. I didn't dare let the nurses do it because I didn't know how careful they would be and they sometimes just snip their hair off to make it easier. It was tedious but he slept right through it. We are still trying to get the sticky stuff from the tape out of a couple spots in his hair. It was so nice to have that dang thing out!

Waiting for him to pee pee after the circ. so we could go home

I want to come smooch him right now. What a cute little boy!
I'm stopping by Grandma's on Wed. night as we drive back to Utah so I'll bring the Chariot stuff with me. I'd love to stop by and see Gage but that would mean more driving so hopefully I'll get to meet him on the way back to Seattle.
Sorry Wayne. That'a 2 out of three that have that unmistakeable Spjute mark, but then 1 Spjute belongs to me so what can I say. Grandkids are the best, especially with 15 now: 5 girls and 10 boys now!!! Talk about wonderful, especially when I get to spoil them. Kyree and Cole and little Jaden add to keeping me busy but what a way to go. I just keep rotating to the homes with grandkids this summer. Sort of fun, but Rick gets left out too much. That is what work does I guess. Can't wait to retire, especially since I am already tired. Luv to you all - hope to see you soon. Probably the end of the month. LUV Aunt Kathy Hall
